Look for the Silver Lining in 2026
The kings are back. Sorta. In 2026 we had a good run of kings that allowed for some subsistence fishing opprtunities. Not quite the 80’s but good enough for some quality fishing. The chum showed up in good numbers as well. For a few years the sea run dollies were not to be found but we had very good reports of great numbers of dollies in 2025. If you put all of this together you get some great early season fishing in July. As the season moves along the numbers increase and the water clears and lowers for good camping.
So why are the late season trips for Silvers so popular. Well we are having record numbers of Silvers. Thats why! The last few years have been good for Silvers but the weather can turn ugly in Mid to late August. Its not cold….its just wet….the river can rise and the flights can be delayed. Proper planning and adding a few days can make all the difference under these conditions.

Find a great group of friends who are ready for an adventure, ready to adjust as needed and ready to go home with some great stories. The silver lining might be the early season fishing with fewer people and great variety. Or it could be the aggressive and exciting Silver Salmon.
